NEWS: Daniel Taylor Productions to Present Two Shakespeare Classics in 2018 at The Epstein Theatre, Liverpool

Two of William Shakespeare’s best loved plays, produced by the highly acclaimed and Liverpool based Daniel Taylor Production Company, are set to return to Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre in 2018.

All the magic and comedy of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be coupled with all of the poignancy and eternal romance conjured up by Romeo and Juliet next spring, with casts for both plays to be announced over the coming months. However Liverpool actor Daniel Taylor will resume the role of director for both plays.

During a two-week run, audiences will be able to watch both Shakespeare’s biggest comedy and greatest tragic romance on one stage between Wednesday 11 April and Saturday 21 April

A Midsummer Night’s Dream follows four young Athenian lovers and a group of six actors, whose lives are turned upside down by the powers of fairies and their magic powers. This production will appeal to all audiences, and will be of particular interest to GCSE students as the play is currently included in the National Curriculum.

Romeo and Juliet is highly regarded as one of the greatest love stories of all time. Set in Verona, Italy, two young star-crossed lovers are caught in the middle of feuding families with tragic consequences. Heartache and love are at the very essence of this production.

“Bringing Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to the Epstein Theatre earlier this year was a huge success,” Daniel said. “It shows our commitment to bringing the classics to life and in a venue accessible to everyone. After receiving such amazing and humbling feedback, we were keen to build on this further – so we’ll be back bigger and better for Spring 2018 with two productions. Romeo and Juliet is the greatest love story ever told and, with its tragedy and heartache, it will fully compliment the fun and mischief in Midsummer Night’s Dream. We’re already counting down the days until the curtain goes up.”
