Following its roaring success at The Liverpool Empire, Jeff Pope’s Cilla: The Musical is now out on the road, thrilling audiences across the UK.
Based on the spectacularly successful TV show starring Sheridan Smith and written by Jeff Pope – with Cilla Black’s blessing – Cilla: The Musical charts the extraordinary rise to stardom of one Britain’s best loved singers and TV personalities.
In the title role, Kara Lily Hayworth is astonishing. From the moment she comes on stage, the research she has undertaken and the guidance she has lived and breathed since being announced as winner of the role from a field of thousands of hopefuls, is obvious.
Featuring the hits that glittered The Girl from Scotland Road’s path, and hits from the likes of The Beatles, Mama’s and the Papas and many more, this is a show that not only charts the success of the individual but that of the whole British music collective under the stewardship of Brian Epstein, played brilliantly by Andrew Lancel.
The tour hits Milton Keynes this week then a further seven venues criss-crossing the country until Christmas before continuing on after the Festive Season.
Cilla: The Musical is for everyone for a love of the history of Britain’s muisical heritage. It is also the show for anybody who loves great Musical Theatre. Make sure you don’t miss out, wherever you are!
